Base letters reference
Matching is done syllable-first and case-insensitive: at every position the tool looks for the longest known chunk (up to 8 characters) in the table before falling back to shorter ones, so gb, kp, and full tone-marked syllables like báàá are recognized as single units rather than built letter-by-letter. Anything not in the table (spaces, punctuation, digits) passes through unchanged.
